Agility

Agility is a popular sport in which a handler directs their dog through a timed obstacle course. While Salukis may not be a common breed participating in agility, they are indeed capable of success. Their agility, slender build, and strong muscles allow them to navigate courses with grace and speed.

Effective communication and rewards are key. You need to be able to “read” your dog’s body language while using verbal commands, body language, and hand signals to guide your Saluki through the course. It’s important to understand your Saluki’s comfort level and enjoyment of any activity you decide to try.

Jumps, tunnels, weave poles, A-frames, teeter-totters, and the elevated dog walk — if you want a competitive, fun sport for developing your partnership, agility just might be the thing.
